Job Description

As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle database systems. This includes ensuring high availability and disaster recovery, monitoring database performance, and optimizing queries, indexes, and schema.

You will also perform regular backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity, manage user access and security for database systems, and troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.

Furthermore, you will implement and maintain database replication and clustering solutions, develop and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement middleware solutions.

In addition, you will work with development teams to deploy, configure, and manage applications on JBoss and WebSphere, ensure middleware security and compliance with organizational policies, and automate deployment processes using CI/CD tools.

To succeed in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, as well as 5+ years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle databases, and 2+ years of experience in middleware administration with JBoss and WebSphere.

Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning is essential, as well as experience with database backup and recovery tools (RMAN, Data Pump). Familiarity with middleware concepts, including clustering, load balancing, and session management, is also required.

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks is necessary, as well as knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust database solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
