Live Streaming & Virtual Gifting Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Live Streaming and Virtual Gifting engineer to join our team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable live streaming and virtual gifting features across our mobile app.

Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end live streaming integration with ZEGOCLOUD UI Kit & SDK, ensuring seamless performance on both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Design and implement virtual gifting features, including gift animations, lucky gifts, combos, and gift-led events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new features, focusing on high-quality, stability, and scalability.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ shipped Flutter apps with substantial ZEGOCLOUD UI Kit/SDK integration.
  • Strong grasp of ZegoExpressEngine concepts, including rooms, streams, tokens, and signaling.
  • Proven experience with beauty filters, PK battles, audio rooms, stickers, and virtual gifting in production.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Parse Server or similar BaaS, Firebase Messaging, Dynamic/Universal Links.
  • Analytics and A/B testing expertise for engagement features.

Work Setup

This is a remote OK position, requiring strong asynchronous communication and fast iteration. You will need:

  • A MacBook (for iOS builds/signing).
  • An iPhone (for on-device testing) and/or an Android device.

Success Metrics

  • < 2s stream start time on good networks.
  • < 300ms end-to-end latency for interactive features (where feasible).
