Project Leader Job Description

We are seeking an experienced architect to lead our consultancy projects. As a project leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and regulatory strategy of large-scale projects, managing teams, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead large-scale consultancy projects with full design and regulatory strategy oversight.
  • Manage small to mid-value projects independently – coordinating design, compliance, and seamless delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure architectural documentation meets client and statutory requirements.
  • Chair interdisciplinary meetings, coordinate teams, set clear project goals, and manage resources to meet strict deadlines.
Technical Requirements:
  • Perform thorough reviews of architectural, civil, and MEP drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and resolve design or coordination issues in MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external MEP engineers, leading coordination meetings to prevent technical clashes.
Compliance & Permit Liaison:
  • Develop permit application strategies and maintain proactive communication with regulatory authorities.
  • Interpret and enforce local/national building codes, fire regulations, PESO guidelines, NBC, and municipal by-laws.
  • Submit compliance documents and manage technical responses to authority queries.
Team & Process Management:
  • Mentor architects, drafters, and interns to ensure well-coordinated technical outputs.
  • Uphold high-quality standards for documentation and design integrity.
  • Implement quality control protocols for architectural and MEP coordination across projects.
Requirements:
  • Accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience leading multidisciplinary commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Deep experience preparing and submitting statutory documents to municipal and specialist agencies.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and MS Office; experience with project scheduling tools is a plus.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated hands-on experience with MEP drawing review, coordination, and quality assurance.
  • Exceptional technical communicator, adept at leading meetings and coordinating with clients, authorities, and consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and standards including UDCPR, NBC, IBC, and NFPA.
  • Registered Architect with the Council of Architecture (COA) is a plus.
  • Proven skills in team leadership, mentoring, and process improvement.
