Reliable Software Expert

We're seeking a seasoned software professional to join our Edge Engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for service health, performance, and capacity
  • Gain deep knowledge of complex applications
  • Assist in the roll-out and ramp up of new product features and technologies
  • Develop tools to improve deployment and monitoring capabilities in large-scale Linux environments
  • Function well in fast-paced, rapidly-changing environments
  • Participate in 24x7 rotations for second-tier escalations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience with Unix/Linux system administration and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of coding experience in languages like Rust, Go, Python, Perl, Ruby
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in UNIX-based large-scale web operations roles
  • Experience with .NET, C#, Android, or iOS development
  • Experience building systems automation and server backends with Python
  • Knowledge of scalable programming concepts in Rust/Golang/Python
  • Previous experience working with geographically-distributed teams
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well in diverse, team-focused environments
  • Knowledge of data structures, relational and non-relational databases, networking, Linux internals, filesystems, web architecture, and related topics
