Job Title: Database Security Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support our database security initiatives. This role requires hands-on experience with database security, flexibility to work non-traditional shifts, and the ability to collaborate with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and implement database security solutions across enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather requirements, analyze data, and deploy tailored solutions.
  • Perform system changes and updates to support global teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to firewalls, network connectivity, and server performance.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Update runbooks, documentation, and tooling to improve incident response and operational readiness.
  • Support post-incident reviews and ensure learnings are documented and actioned.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of alerting systems and operational workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering roles, preferably in cybersecurity or infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with database security.
  • Strong background in Linux, System Administration, OS/Server Administration, and Firewall troubleshooting.
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Python, etc.).

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with automation tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and services.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.
