Microsoft Dynamics AX Consultant Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics AX professional to support our enterprise application environment, with a strong focus on data extraction, transformation, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge of AX modules and be proficient in SQL development.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for
  1. Understanding and supporting all core Dynamics AX modules, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Inventory Management, Fixed Assets, and Projects.
  2. Working independently to deepen their understanding of AX concepts after a high-level knowledge transfer.
  3. Debugging existing AX customizations.
  4. Tracing and understanding business logic in X++ and SQL.
  5. Extracting and transforming data from Microsoft SQL Server.
  6. Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for reporting and migration.
  7. Performing pre- and post-validation to ensure data quality.
  8. Creating documentation for SQL processes, data mappings, and validation steps.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, applicants must have the following skills and qualifications:
  1. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (2012 or later).
  3. Strong knowledge of X++ development and AX architecture.
  4. Proficiency in MS SQL Server and query optimization.
  5. Experience with data migration, transformation, and validation.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, minimal-supervision environment.
  7. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing scripts.
  8. Solid understanding of stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  9. Knowledge of data conversion best practices.
  10. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  11. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  12. Familiarity with other database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus.
