Credit Risk Manager Job Summary

The Credit Risk Manager is responsible for leading and managing the credit risk function to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables, minimizing bad debts, and maintaining healthy cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Management: Develop and implement effective credit control policies, procedures, and credit limits. Conduct thorough financial analysis, credit scoring, and risk assessments to evaluate new and existing customer creditworthiness. Approve or recommend credit limits and payment terms based on individual circumstances.
  • Receivables Management: Monitor accounts receivable ledgers to guarantee all debts are collected in a timely manner. Regularly review and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Ensure precise allocation of receipts to prevent errors and discrepancies.
  • Collections: Lead the collections team to follow up on outstanding invoices. Resolve invoice disputes and escalate complex cases to senior management for guidance. Establish regular contact with key customers to secure timely payments.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare comprehensive weekly/monthly reports on receivables, aging, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), bad debt provisions, and collection efficiency. Highlight high-risk accounts and overdue balances to senior management for prompt attention.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, and Customer Service teams to resolve credit issues and support customer relationships. Liaise with external credit rating agencies and legal advisors when necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate the credit control team. Set performance KPIs and conduct regular team performance reviews.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company credit policies and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audit processes to maintain transparency and accountability.
