Assembly Line Process Engineer

Job Title: Process Engineer - Assembly Line Optimization

• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead process engineering in assembly line optimization for new model introduction and capacity increase projects with the implementation of automation to improve in-process manufacturing quality.
• Develop up-to-date material flows for ongoing process location changes and determine the best flow for process/product diversity management, incorporating Poka Yoke automation solutions to prevent defects and optimize the production flow.
• Plan Capex budgets and forecasts for new model programs through automated solutions to manage regular engineering changes and localization projects.

• Key Accountabilities:
• Establish power train assembly processes and equipment, including tightening/torquing, pressing, sealant machines, timing stations, cold testing, and leak testing.
• Conduct technical and commercial feasibility studies for power train assembly and machining lines.
• Prepare RFI documents, discuss equipment suppliers, conduct technical discussions, and plan Capex budgets for new projects.
• Improve processes through PFMEA, control plan, and process sheet preparation, as well as equipment planning, installation, trial, and handover to operations teams.
• Optimize industrial engineering activities, including cycle time improvement, layout optimization, parts feeding, and ergonomic improvements.
• Develop engine assembly line processes for new model introductions and capacity increase projects, breaking through process limitations to improve plant key performance indicators.
• Implement best practices on projects involving flow analysis and line balancing, leading layout modification activities to improve flow, productivity, and processes.
• Modify PLC systems to accommodate changes and additions in assembly lines, designing error-proofing concepts to ensure zero occurrences and 100% detection.
• Implement Stellantis Production Way (SPW) standards, driving material flow and process automation levels, supporting performance champions, and revising material flow and process automation levels continuously.
• Analyze problem process constraints, conduct automation studies, and recommend efficient workflows and resource allocation.
• Prepare cost estimates for new or revised methods and standards, reviewing proposed changes in plant layouts, processes, automations, and material handling.
• Lead job methodization and process allocations, coordinating engineering changes and planning, conducting value stream mapping, and process audits.
• Strategically plan and coordinate continuous improvement activities to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives, assisting work groups in maintaining production flow consistent with cycle times.
• Support continuous improvement, coach problem resolution, and help management implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous quality/automation improvements.
• Determine critical data, focus analysis, recognize subtle symptoms, probe root causes, and use systematic problem-solving methods to effectively solve complex problems.
