API Gateway Specialist Job Opportunity

This is a highly rewarding role for an experienced API Gateway Developer looking to take their skills to the next level. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs using industry-leading technologies.

About the Role:

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, explain API concepts, and drive best practices. Your expertise in API development, integration patterns, and securing enterprise APIs will be invaluable in this position.

  • You will define system and product requirements, generating specifications that meet software/hardware performance and reliability needs.
  • You will lead the evaluation, design, and integration of all enhancements or new releases of the system.
  • You will work closely with colleagues to gather requirements, explain API concepts, and promote best practices.
  • You will design architecturally compliant system landscapes and develop, modify, test, implement, document, and maintain systems software and hardware.
  • You will troubleshoot and resolve server, operating system, and other infrastructure problems.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • You should have hands-on experience with various API gateways, including global deployments of application architecture.
  • You should possess strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex API design and integration issues.
  • You should have a broad understanding of web service implementation paradigms (REST, SOAP).
  • You should be familiar with version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
  • You should be able to monitor API traffic and troubleshoot issues related to performance, security, and availability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with designing, developing, implementing, and managing APIs.
  • 3+ years of experience working with API design patterns and authentication & authorization controls using OAuth.
  • 3+ years of experience with large-scale migration projects involving multiple application teams.
  • 2+ years of experience working within an agile team (Scrum, Jira, Rally, etc.).
