The Engineering Challenge:

Payments engineering is a complex challenge that requires low latency, transactional guarantees, security, and high scalability. Adding credit and engagement to the mix creates an even more intricate puzzle, involving underwriting and recommendation algorithms working on large data sets. We've eliminated traditional call centers, sales agents, and SMS-based processes, replacing them with a mobile app that empowers customers to take control. To stay agile, our entire stack is built on the cloud, leveraging modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Underwriting and BRE Projects: Manage the implementation of underwriting and Business Rules Engine (BRE) projects for credit card products, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Develop Credit Card Underwriting Rules: Design and refine data-driven underwriting rules for credit card applicants, aligning with company risk policies.
  • Implement and Maintain BRE: Build, configure, and maintain the BRE to automate and streamline credit decision-making processes.
  • Leverage Python and SQL for Data Analysis: Use Python and SQL to develop, test, and implement credit models that optimize approval rates while managing risk.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with credit risk, fraud, compliance, and technology teams to ensure smooth integration of underwriting rules and BRE logic.
  • Track and Report Performance: Use SQL to create reports and dashboards that monitor the effectiveness of credit decisions, underwriting rules, and BRE performance.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly analyze performance data to identify and implement improvements in underwriting and BRE rules.
