Job Title: Legacy Component Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and track hardware components at risk of becoming obsolete or nearing the end-of-life (EOL), including integrated circuits, semiconductors, and mechanical components critical to aerospace systems.
  • Analyze lifecycle data and predict potential obsolescence trends based on market changes, supplier information, and technology evolution.
  • Evaluate the impact of component obsolescence on existing and future aerospace projects in collaboration with the systems engineering team.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate the effects of obsolescence, including component substitution, redesigns, and sourcing from second-source suppliers.
  • Ensure affected components are identified early in the program lifecycle, minimizing risk to operational schedules and system performance.
  • Manage redesign efforts when necessary to ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
