Job Description

A critical role within an organization is that of a collections professional who oversees the accounts receivable process. This involves ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts from customers or clients, working closely with the Accounting Department and external partners.

  • Develop effective strategies for debt collection, including negotiation and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and take prompt action to recover debts.
  • Communicate effectively with customers or clients to resolve payment issues and disputes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including customer interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on the overall status of collections.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Certified Accountant/Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field. A master's degree may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to accounts receivable and collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to assess data and trends.
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
