A Data Architect is a strategic professional responsible for designing, implementing and managing scalable and secure data architectures that support business objectives. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or GCP, as well as strong experience in data modeling, integration and optimization.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Data Modeling and Design
    • Create logical and physical data models to align with application and business objectives.
    • Ensure data structures are scalable, secure and efficient.
  • Data Integration and ETL
    • Lead the integration of diverse data sources.
    • Design robust ETL processes to support data flow and quality.
  • Cloud and On-Premises Architectures
    • Build and optimize cloud-based data storage solutions on Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Performance Tuning
    • Optimize data systems for scalability, security and efficiency across multiple environments.
  • Collaboration and Leadership
    • Engage with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts and business stakeholders.
    • Translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Documentation and Governance
    • Maintain detailed documentation of data architectures and schemas.
    • Ensure consistency and compliance with governance policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 9 to 14 years of experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data modeling tools, data integration architecture, ETL frameworks and knowledge of NoSQL databases (like MongoDB), relational databases (like PostgreSQL, Oracle) and cloud services.
  • Education: Minimum of 15 years of formal education in computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience working in diverse domains such as healthcare, finance, government or technology sectors.
