Occupational Nutrition Specialist

Job Description:

  1. Conduct thorough nutritional assessments to identify employees' and patients' dietary needs, ensuring alignment with occupational health and safety standards.
  2. Develop personalized diet plans for employees with lifestyle disorders, such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cardiovascular conditions, promoting overall well-being and energy levels.
  3. Provide expert guidance on nutrition and hydration for individuals exposed to occupational risks, high-temperature environments, and physically demanding tasks, minimizing the risk of workplace injuries.
  4. Create balanced and nutritious menus for contract workforce and employee canteens, adhering to food quality, hygiene standards, and portioning norms.
  5. Maintain food quality, hygiene standards, and portioning in canteens to ensure compliance with nutrition and safety norms, safeguarding the health of employees and visitors.
  6. Counsel employees on healthy eating practices to prevent occupational fatigue and lifestyle-related illnesses, fostering a culture of wellness within the organization.
  7. Design nutrition programs to support worker well-being, immunity, and energy levels, enhancing productivity and job satisfaction.
  8. Deliver awareness sessions, workshops, and health talks on balanced diet, workplace nutrition, and stress-related eating, promoting informed decision-making among employees.
  9. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care, addressing both physical and mental health requirements.
  10. Maintain records of dietary assessments, menu plans, interventions, and progress for reporting purposes, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, or equivalent field.
  • Registered Dietician certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Dietician, preferably in occupational health, hospital, or industrial healthcare setup.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, occupational health nutrition, and preventive healthcare principles.
  • Experience in large-scale menu planning and industrial canteen management is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
