Job Title: Grant Opportunity Specialist

About the Role:

The primary goal of this role is to find and write effective grant proposals for our organization. To achieve this, the ideal candidate will research funding opportunities and brainstorm with our team to create polished concepts that secure grants for existing or new program activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our organization's vision, objectives, growth, and financial needs.
  • Conduct thorough research on various grant sources, including institutional grants, corporate social responsibility funding, government bodies, individual donors, etc.
  • Collaborate with our team to draft grant proposals and supporting documents tailored to the funding requirements of our organization.
  • Submit proposals to our fundraising team for review and approval.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external queries regarding drafted and submitted proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit regular reports related to grant opportunities.
  • Provide input on effectively communicating our work, grants received, outcomes achieved, etc., through social media to enhance our reputation.
  • Take ownership of submitted proposals and proactively work towards securing at least one successful grant RFP per quarter.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience in grant writing or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years prior experience as a proposal writer with a grant-seeking organization, coupled with a history of submitting successful proposals.
  • Strong knowledge or deep interest in conservation, sustainability, and environmental issues.
  • Ability to understand and convey the nuances of our organization's mission and goals.
  • Prior knowledge of biodiversity and conservation communication is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills to craft well-structured proposals that effectively communicate program outcomes.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Self-driven and motivated.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PPT, Excel, etc.).
