Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Support Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering PostgreSQL in production environments, with a strong focus on performance tuning and optimization.

They will be responsible for owning the toughest tickets, acting as the final escalation point for complex incidents, and designing and automating PostgreSQL deployments in Kubernetes.

Additionally, they will tune and optimize queries, balance workloads, and architect capacity planning to ensure high availability and resilience of our database systems.

The successful candidate will also have expertise in monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and will be able to implement security measures to protect our data.

A key part of the role will be mentoring junior engineers in best practices and contributing to internal knowledge bases to ensure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • 5+ years administering PostgreSQL in production environments
  • Deep expertise in Linux and shell scripting
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators
  • Mastery of performance tuning and optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and spoken communication skills
