Database Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of DB2 and IMS databases on IBM zOS platforms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading advanced performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies. Additionally, you will manage database migrations, version upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in DB2 for zOS v10 and above, as well as IMS DBD, CJCL, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, RACF, ACF2, REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, UNLOAD, COPY, RECOVER, MODIFY, and utilities such as REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, UNLOAD, COPY, RECOVER, MODIFY. Experience with data replication tools like IBM InfoSphere, database modeling tools such as CA Erwin, IBM Data Studio, and change management tools like Endevor ChangeMan is also essential.

You will work closely with application teams to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models. You will implement and enforce database security policies, including access controls and auditing. Your ability to automate routine tasks using JCL, REXX, and scheduling tools like CA7 or ESP will be valuable assets in this role.

This position requires a strong understanding of data sharing, Sysplex, and high availability configurations. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred. Certification as an IBM Certified Database Administrator, DB2 for zOS, or equivalent is highly desirable.
