Senior Modelling Specialist - CAT / Treaty Modelling


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Modelling Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 5-6 members and providing high-quality risk assessment of individual accounts or portfolios based on information provided in schedules or modelling data.


  • Lead a team of 5-6 specialists, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties efficiently.
  • Deliver high-quality risk assessment of individual accounts or portfolios, using location information to prioritise high-value and high-risk locations.
  • Format, scrub, and arrange data in a manner understood by the model, ensuring all logical checks are in place in the data.
  • Accurately and timely account pricing, taking into account service level agreements.
  • Maintain exposure databases and analyse them for completeness and accuracy of the information.
  • Support underwriters with all queries, exposure movement year over year.
  • Contribute ideas for process enhancement and improvement.
  • Understand and interpret model results, providing risk-specific observations to underwriters.

Key Skills:
  • Exposure to AIR touchstone, SQL, MS Office proficiency.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including Excel manipulation and functions at a foundation level.
  • Good problem-solving skills, with experience working on complex projects.
  • Insurance certification or insurance projects in dissertation.
  • Advance Excel / VBA programming language.
  • Team leadership skills, with experience leading a team of 5-6 members.

Requirements:
  • 6 years' experience in the field of Cat modelling/Treaty modelling preferably with insurance/reinsurance experience.
  • Strong understanding of catastrophe modelling and treaty modellings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English language.
