IT Asset Management Specialist

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IT asset management principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hardware Asset Management (HAM):
    • Implement and maintain the ServiceNow HAM module to ensure accurate tracking of hardware assets from procurement to disposal.
    • Establish workflows for asset requests, approvals, deployments, and returns to streamline the asset management process.
    • Maintain a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for hardware assets to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
    • Develop asset audit processes to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
  • Software Asset Management (SAM):
    • Configure and maintain the ServiceNow SAM module to track and manage software licenses, subscriptions, and usage across the organization.
    • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and avoid audit risks by regularly reviewing and updating software licenses.
    • Optimize software spending by identifying unused licenses and ensuring efficient allocation.
    • Generate compliance and usage reports for stakeholders and audits to provide transparency and accountability.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain ITAM/ITOM dashboards, KPIs, and reporting to provide insights into asset performance and trends.
    • Contribute to the design of global asset management processes and solutions aligned with industry best practices.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement asset management processes and solutions.
    • Monitor and resolve integration issues with other IT systems to ensure seamless operation.
    • Design and maintain dashboards and reports for hardware and software assets to provide visibility and insights.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on HAM/SAM processes and tools to ensure effective adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7 years of experience in IT Asset Management.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow HAM and SAM processes & modules.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, especially asset and configuration management.
  • Experience with CMDB configuration and management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of software licensing models and their applications.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow administration, including workflow configuration and customizations.
  • Ability to create and manage custom scripts, workflows, and integrations using JavaScript and other relevant languages.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
