Overview

As a seasoned Data Governance Expert, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our organization's data assets. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in data management, governance, and strategy to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Provide thought leadership on data governance best practices, trends, and innovations to stay ahead of industry requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for data protection, security, and privacy.
  • Lead data-related initiatives and projects to drive business outcomes and optimize resource utilization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT professionals, and data analysts, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance data governance capabilities and support business innovation.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver data governance projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate data governance maturity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with data governance, including data breaches, security threats, and compliance issues.

Requirements:

To succeed in this critical role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting & Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data management within the banking and financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive results-oriented initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools, technologies, and methodologies, such as Informatica DEQ, EDC, AXON, etc.
  • Experience working with business units to embed and adopt data standards, facilitate data stewardship, and drive business outcomes.
