Position Overview:
We seek an accomplished and results-driven Strategic Logistics Professional to lead our Secondary Logistics function in Bihar and West Bengal.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Develop comprehensive logistics strategies to drive overall effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring optimal Total Logistics Cost.
2. Foster high-performing relationships with transporters for continuous reliable services.
3. Prepare and manage the logistics department's annual budget for approval by the Logistics Head.
4. Drive growth initiatives to enhance DCBL's competitiveness.
5. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements for smooth logistics operations.
6. Monitor vendor billing and ensure timely payments.
7. Oversee transportation, stock control, and the flow of goods.
8. Analyze secondary performance against sales team targets and take corrective measures as needed.
9. Ensure timely freight uploading on SAP and approve fluctuations based on analysis.
10. Deliver goods to dealers/distributor shops to meet sales targets.
11. Manage transporter activities, ensure regular follow-ups, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
12. Implement cost-effective techniques and processes to optimize logistics efficiency.
13. Reduce Total Logistics Cost while maintaining high service levels.
14. Optimize rake planning to minimize logistics costs.
15. Appoint suitable Contractors and Freight Forwarders after thorough background checks.
16. Address operational matters related to Consolidation Notes, disputes, and union issues.
17. Conduct physical stock verifications at warehouses through surprise audits.
18. Focus on efficient vendor management, agreement execution, and key capability building initiatives.
19. Utilize advanced business analytics tools to inform critical organizational decisions.
20. Review and monitor team member performance, providing developmental support and updates their knowledge base.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong track record in strategic logistics, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
