Software Repository Expert

We seek a highly skilled individual to maintain our software repository.

This role is distinct from a systems administrator position and requires immediate attention from experienced professionals.

Key responsibilities include maintaining changelogs, documenting processes, providing bug fixes, debugging with gdb when necessary, reviewing changes, and connecting with upstream developers to resolve issues.

In addition to technical prowess, successful candidates should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently, and strong teamwork skills.

The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our software repository through updates, upgrades, and patches.

Required Skills:

  • Linux: Proficiency in Linux fundamentals and understanding of system architecture.
  • Bash Scripting: Ability to write efficient bash scripts to automate tasks.
  • C and Python: Strong technical skills in C and Python programming languages.
  • Build System Tools: Familiarity with build system tools like autotools, meson, ninja, cmake, make, pkg-config, scons.
  • Slackware Linux: Knowledge of Slackware Linux and ability to troubleshoot issues.
