Job Overview

Our team is seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our roster of technical experts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and maintaining large-scale SQL Server databases, as well as expertise in high availability and disaster recovery solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration:
  • Install, upgrade, and migrate SQL Servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Apply patches or service packs for SQL Server to fix bugs and security vulnerabilities.
  • Configure high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Set up automated alerts to notify the team of any issues or errors.
  • Work on incidents, change tickets, and problem tickets to resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Setup maintenance plans for backups, database integrity checks, rebuild indexes, update statistics, and ensure all jobs run without issues.
  • Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and resolve them efficiently.
  • Participate in bridge calls to troubleshoot and resolve P1 (SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents with minimal disruption.
  • Have hands-on experience with Always On and DB Mirroring to ensure seamless data replication and failover.
  • Execute changes to database schema and maintain a controlled development environment to prevent data corruption.
  • Collaborate with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
  • Deploy database objects to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production environments to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Provide day-to-day support for high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases, identify root causes of production problems, and work with developers to resolve them.
  • Work on performance tuning, creating missing indexes, and optimizing database queries to improve overall performance.
  • Be willing to work in 24x7 projects (shifts) to meet business needs.
  • Have experience with scripting using Perl, PowerShell to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Have experience with AWS/Azure to deploy and manage cloud-based databases.

  • Hold any of the following certificates: SQL Server certifications.
  • Experience with SQL Cloud-based solutions to stay ahead in the industry.
