We are seeking a seasoned expert to manage and maintain IBM MQ Series and File Transfer Edition (FTE) on the z/OS platform.

This role demands deep technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to maintain mission-critical systems.

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ Series and MQ FTE on z/OS.
  • Manage MQ objects including queue managers, queues, channels, and cluster configurations.
  • Monitor MQ performance and availability, applying tuning techniques to optimize throughput and reduce latency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support high-performing messaging infrastructure that supports enterprise applications and batch processes.
  • Plan and execute upgrades of MQ Series and FTE components on z/OS.
  • Conduct compatibility checks, regression testing, and rollback planning.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and version control records for upgrades.

Technical Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ on z/OS.
  • Deep understanding of MQ Queue Sharing Groups, FTE configurations, and MQ monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, REXX, JCL, and related language tools.

Preferred Skills

  • IBM MQ Administrator Certification (or equivalent relevant certification).
