Systems Analyst - Retail Technology

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Analyst with a focus on Retail Technology to fill this key position.

The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing technology systems and processes for new feature implementation and design improvements, as well as coordinating with engineering teams to analyze business requirements, design technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration of applications with our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for various applications.
  • Build business cases, including cost/benefit analysis, for strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and cleanliness for guest and employee profiles, transactions, etc.
  • Build and optimize monitoring and alerting capabilities across multiple integrations.
  • Automate report generation in tools like Power BI, Splunk, etc., to get meaningful KPIs.
  • Understand application architecture and technology stacks to recommend appropriate strategies to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, QA testers, and IT support staff.
  • Analyze real/actual data for business reporting, project decision-making, and production issues troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development, with a focus on retail technology.
  • Proficiency in database management systems, including SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with modern development frameworks and languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Knowledge of application hardware and software integration. Experience with retail POS-related technologies is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
