Key Skills & Experience Required

Our ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows and Unix operating systems. In addition, they should be proficient in one or more database technologies including MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase, and DB2. An OCA/OCP certification is also a must.

Job Responsibilities
  • Escalate incidents to the supervisor/unit head/vendors promptly for quick resolution.
  • Document knowledge base entries for newly received solutions.
  • Prepare MIS reports for issues, changes, and application downtimes.
  • Automate/schedule activities independently or collaborate with server/network teams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and issue resolution with vendors.
  • Perform system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for issue resolutions.
  • Liaise with BPRG/BSG for analysis and resolution of issues.
  • Perform periodic housekeeping of databases/application setups to ensure system availability and uptime.
  • Continuously monitor:
  • Application-specific mails,
  • OEM reports,
  • Transaction reports,
  • Alert parameters,
  • Take actions based on KB documentation.
  • Adhere to incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
  • Execute approved changes across various environments.
  • Log/tracking problem tickets for recurring incidents.
  • Manage database/applications backups/restoration tasks.
  • Address vulnerabilities through configuration changes/system upgrades.
  • Capture/analyze system utilization/database growth patterns for capacity management inputs.
  • Support business continuity planning drills.
  • Execute assigned team activities.
  • Monitor/resolve production issues related to databases.
  • Resolve incidents linked to:
  • Databases,
  • Database backups,
  • Tape backups,
  • Log shipping jobs,
  • Scheduled/automated jobs,
  • Monitor long-running queries during peak load periods.
  • Track transaction volumes as input for infrastructure review.
