Job Title: Cloud Systems Manager

We are seeking a skilled cloud systems manager to oversee, optimize and secure our cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud administration, database management, performance tuning, security and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Administration: Manage cloud accounts, users, roles and permissions following best practices.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor query performance, optimize resources and tune workloads for efficient execution.
  • Data Management: Oversee databases, schemas, tables and data pipelines in the cloud.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including encryption, data masking, network policies and audit logging.
  • Automation: Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting and automating administrative tasks (SQL, Python, etc.).
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track resource utilization, storage and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Cost Optimization: Manage compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Upgrades & Maintenance: Apply patches, monitor cloud updates and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Integration: Support integrations with ETL/ELT tools, BI platforms and cloud services.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain detailed documentation of cloud configurations, policies and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of experience as a cloud administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud features: virtual warehouses, clustering, time travel and data sharing.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrations.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data security and governance practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
  • Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk or other monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on experience in DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for data workflows.
  • Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics workloads on cloud environments.
