Chief Architect

Job Description:

As an Enterprise Technology Leader, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's success. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Defining and implementing our technology strategy to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency
• Leveraging advanced domain knowledge, technology competency, and industry exposure to devise innovative approaches for delivering tailored solutions
• Establishing and developing strong professional relationships with product management, analytics, and technology groups, and acting as the engineering anchor
• Collaborating with technical developers, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, quality, application performance, and completeness
• Providing in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
• Creating and enhancing reusable assets and frameworks
• Developing prototypes to demonstrate the use of new technologies within our products
• Contributing to the strategic vision of our platform product
• Leading engineering teams by providing strong technical leadership and guidance

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

• A history of successfully building functionally rich, high-performance, scalable, and multi-tenant platforms
• Solid experience in building secure platforms
• A substantial track record of success in bringing innovative software products to market
• Very strong background in Java technologies
• Understanding of platform challenges and the ability to articulate platform-level abstractions from user requirements
• Capability to conduct a SWOT analysis on internal tools and 3rd party tools and provide clear decisions on approach
• Ability to maintain a 'big picture' focus and lead engineering in a rapidly evolving technology marketplace
• Enterprise platform experience with preferably both thin and thick client experience
• Passion for building applications that are sensitive to memory, bandwidth, latency, and tough performance constraints, with relevant metrics to discuss
• Experience working and collaborating with talented teams in highly agile Scrum environments
• Deep understanding of technologies such as Java/J2EE, JavaScript, XML, DOM/SAX Parsers, Swings, HTML, CSS, HTTP/s, C++, JBoss, JSP, EJB 2.0, Struts 2.0, Servlets, Kodo (ORM), JMS, RMI, Quartz, ANT, Drools, various file systems, XML, DB (SQL, Oracle, DB2), DMS, Web Services, LDAP integration
• Experience building or integrating tools like Document Management System, Workflow Management, Offline Capability, Integration Frameworks
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Relational databases, and Data Modeling, including distributed systems, concurrency, scalability, and fault-tolerant designs
• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communications skills for technical audiences, with the ability to explain and drive technical solutions to technical teams
• Outstanding leadership and team-building skills, with good planning and organizational skills, self-initiative, and direction, including AGILE experience
