Logistics Operations Manager

We seek an accomplished Logistics Operations Manager to spearhead our international trade and distribution of petroleum & chemical products.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in vessel chartering, import compliance, and handling hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals through sea freight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive logistics strategies to optimize cost, delivery timelines, and safety compliance for the import of chemicals via bulk tankers, dry bulk, and containerized cargo.
  • Manage spot and long-term chartering of chemical tankers, dry bulk vessels, and container space, negotiating freight contracts and maintaining strong relationships with ship owners and chartering brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with IMDG, REACH, MARPOL, DG regulations, and other international maritime laws, overseeing customs clearance and regulatory approvals.
  • Coordinate with port authorities, terminals, and bonded warehouses for efficient cargo handling, supervising movement from port to plant via road tankers or ISO tanks as per cargo type.
  • Monitor freight trends, benchmark costs, and initiate cost-saving strategies across shipping modes, analyzing and reporting KPIs (OTIF, demurrage costs, transit times, etc.) and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team of 15 ppl, building a strong logistics network including transporters, and warehouse partners.
