Job Role

Merchandiser

This role is crucial in bridging the gap between buyers and internal teams, ensuring timely approvals and effective production management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding buyer requirements, developing samples, and managing Time and Action (TNA) calendars for each order.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between buyers and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet buyer expectations, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Monitor order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to avoid delays and ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare and manage costing sheets, negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems, with a strong understanding of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction.
