Job Title

We are seeking a talented Business Systems Specialist to join our team.

A Business Systems Specialist is responsible for facilitating the research, exploration, analysis, and documentation of business systems requirements into detailed functional specifications for development.

This involves researching and exploring user requirements, costs, and benefits in support of documentation required for the demand management process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business needs and be able to analyze current business processes and models to define requirements and/or gaps.

They will also have experience with system factors including input/output requirements, information and paper flow, hardware, and software needs.

A Business Systems Specialist must be able to evaluate the impact of potential software and process changes on the organization.

They will assist in creating business case documentation and understand architectural consistency and usability standards.

The role requires the ability to drive the implementation of systems, working closely with technical team members.

Additional responsibilities include planning and completing assigned configuration tasks within deadlines.

Defining and developing user test cases and validating test results during testing is also a key part of this role.

A Business Systems Specialist must be able to conduct system demonstrations and training sessions, as well as participate in design/review of training content.

Finally, they will play a third-level support role by helping troubleshoot and resolve issues with production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate research, exploration, analysis, and documentation of business systems requirements.
  • Research and explore user requirements, costs, and benefits.
  • Analyze current business processes and models to define requirements and/or gaps.
  • Evaluate the impact of potential software and process changes.
  • Assist in creating business case documentation.
  • Drive the implementation of systems.
  • Plan and complete assigned configuration tasks.
  • Define and develop user test cases.
  • Conduct system demonstrations and training sessions.
  • Participate in design/review of training content.
  • Provide third-level support for production systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant technical or business work experience.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
  • Familiarity with application integration methods, including data mapping processes.
  • Strong domain knowledge in at least one business area.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical collaborators.
  • Meticulous, proactive, and efficient with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to learn new systems and tools quickly.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle methodologies.
