Job Title: Executive Pastry Specialist

  • This role entails responsibility for creating a wide variety of pastry and dessert items in accordance with provided recipes and images.
  • The successful candidate will be assigned to a designated station within the pastry galley, where they will be expected to perform various tasks and develop their skills over time.
  • As a key member of the pastry team, this individual will be entrusted with managing certain aspects of pastry and dessert production.
  • Shift assignments will be made based on operational requirements, with flexibility to work either day or night shifts as needed.
  • Responsibilities include setting up visually appealing pastry displays on buffets as required.
  • Additional duties may include transporting food items from main stores to the pastry galley when necessary.
  • Attention to cleanliness and sanitation will be crucial, with adherence to United States Public Health regulations at all times.
  • Occasional early standby assignments may also be requested in the pastry galley for USPH purposes.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a high level of awareness and/or acquired knowledge regarding shipboard standards, enabling them to effectively assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
  • Attendance at meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related activities will be mandatory as required.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor or management as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a pastry cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment use is essential.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency is required.
