Job Overview

The role of a Project Cost Controller is pivotal in ensuring the financial success of projects. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for managing and controlling costs to achieve optimal financial outcomes.

  • Cost Management

You will develop and implement detailed project budgets, annual, quarterly, and monthly plans, and rolling forecasts to ensure accurate financial projections.

Financial Planning

This includes preparing project invoicing, tax issues, bonds, guarantees, financial accounting, and reporting to drive optimization of project cash flow, revenues, and GM contribution.

Risk Mitigation

You will identify opportunities and risks, implement mitigation actions, and participate in monthly project reviews with the PM, Central Controller, and PSCM to ensure alignment with project controls and planning/scheduling.

Commercial Acumen

You will promote commercial awareness within the project team, provide commercial input to the project execution plan, and maintain an updated billing register capturing details of all billings, approval status, payment, deductions, and follow-ups.

Expense Monitoring

You will monitor site expenses strictly, report weekly project expenses in a specified format, reconcile SAP entries with invoices, and analyze actual vs. budget costs and revenue on the project.

Project Actualization

You will lead project actualisation activities at HO-defined frequency, coordinate with the project team, prepare finance-related slides for actua presentations, upload actua in SAP post-approval, review kappa against budgeted costs, and highlight cost overruns.

Compliance and Internal Controls

You will ensure compliance with internal financial controls as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix, monitor ABG, PBG, and other guarantees, and provide required support to the execution team.

Requirements
  • Interpersonal Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Technical Skills

A well-versed understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is necessary.

Communication Skills

Strong communication skills, including follow-up and timely completion of tasks, are required.

Business Acumen

A go-getter approach and high sense of responsibility are essential qualities for this role.

SAP Knowledge

Basic knowledge of SAP is desirable.

Qualifications

MBA Finance / CA-Inter / ICWA qualifications are preferred.

Total experience of 6 to 10 years is desired.
