Cloud Operations Specialist Job Description

As a Cloud Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud-based systems. Your primary responsibility will be to deploy new tenants and system upgrades in alignment with our software release schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely deployment of new tenants and system upgrades.
  • Review release notes to assess changes and conduct local validations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all configuration changes.
  • Proactively identify, report, and track defects or anomalies through incident management processes.
  • Manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including access control, certificate lifecycle, and policy enforcement.
  • Deploy and optimize Azure alerting mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and decommission unused services/resources.
  • Analyze alert trends to recommend performance improvements.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and Serious Incident Reviews after service disruptions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of experience in cloud operations, Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure services, including monitoring, deployments, access certificate management.
  • Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell, Bison, and LinqPad for automation and deployments.
  • Experience managing Azure Windows Server environments and administering Azure SQL databases.
  • Experience in configuring Application Monitoring and Dashboards.
  • Experience working in an ITIL environment.
  • Cost management experience, including cloud budgeting and forecasting.
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
