About the Role

The Commodity Manager position is a key individual contributor role within Siemens Energy, providing strategic leadership for assigned commodities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead assigned commodity for the India region supplier base.
  2. Develop the Ecosystem strategy in the respective area of responsibility, in alignment with business objectives.
  3. Ensure the supplier base is identified and effectively utilized by Siemens Energy businesses globally.
  4. Maintain visibility on cost structures and spend in the area of responsibility.
  5. Build and implement business-specific initiatives and measures based on the commodity strategy.
  6. Increase managed spend in the area of responsibility through strategic leadership.
  7. Maintain a competitive supply base in alignment with the Ecosystem strategy.
  8. Implement periodic strategic procurement activities, including negotiations, commodity strategy updates, and sourcing board approvals.
  9. Prepare, negotiate, and award frame contracts and price lists for strategic suppliers.
  10. Manage relationships with assigned strategic suppliers.
  11. Generate, document, and implement savings measures, monitoring and reporting relevant KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of sourcing processes.
  • Experience running long-term contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes for assigned commodities.
  • Excellent change management skills and proven ability to lead change.
  • Ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally.
