Job Description

A challenging opportunity exists for a Strategic Steel Procurement Manager to lead the Large Steel Fabrication commodity in India region, driving strategic leadership and managing supplier relationships.

About the Role

This role is part of Siemens Energy's Global Functions, specifically within the Strategic Procurement Business Unit. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for defining the ecosystem strategy for the respective area of responsibility, working closely with cross-functional counterparts and support from GCMs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage your expertise to lead the Large Steel Fabrication commodity in the India region, identifying and effectively utilizing suppliers that meet business requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure transparency on cost structures and spend in the area of responsibility through Commodity Circles.
  • Collaborate with global teams to increase managed spend by safeguarding awarding following the defined commodity strategy for the India region supplier base.
  • Prepare, negotiate, award, and make available frame contracts & price lists for strategic suppliers in accordance with business and market requirements.
  • Drive early procurement/supplier involvement and cost-out activities via respective Commodity Circles.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • BE/Mechanical or Supply Chain Management with a minimum of 10 years' collective experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, or similar functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of sourcing processes and experience handling long-term contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes for assigned commodities, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of leading change.
  • Experience using financial and data-driven techniques to make decisions and ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, leader, self-starter, and willingness to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally.
