Role Overview

Siemens Energy is seeking a skilled Regional Commodity Manager for Forgings to provide strategic leadership for their assigned commodity within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Forgings commodity, including Forgings, Machined Parts, Fasteners, and Cold Blades, for the India region supplier base.
  2. Develop and implement an ecosystem strategy in the respective area of responsibility with cross-functional counterparts and support from GCMs and in alignment with business objectives.
  3. Ensure the India region supplier base is identified and effectively utilized by Siemens Energy businesses globally.
  4. Provide transparency on cost structures and spend in the area of responsibility via Commodity Circles.
  5. Increase managed spend in the area of responsibility by safeguarding awardings following the defined commodity strategy for the India region supplier base.
  6. Implement periodic strategic procurement activities, including negotiations, planning, commodity strategy updates, awarding strategy, and sourcing board approvals.
  7. Prepare, negotiate, award, and make available frame contracts and price lists for strategic suppliers in accordance with business and market requirements, in alignment with GCM.
  8. Generate, document, and implement savings measures, supervise, and report relevant KPIs.
  9. Drive early procurement/supplier involvement and cost-out activities via respective Commodity Circles.
  10. Identify procurement risks and opportunities and implement respective measures, and provide feedback on the India region supplier market information and knowledge to stakeholders through networks.

Requirements

  1. BE or Mechanical, Supply Chain Management with a minimum of 10 years' collective experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, discipline, or similar function, and having experience in managing the Forgings commodity, including Forgings, Machined Parts, Fasteners, and Cold Blades, for the India region supplier base.
  2. Advanced knowledge of sourcing processes, experience handling long-term contracts, and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
  3. Strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes for assigned commodities, excellent leadership skills, and proven ability to lead change.
  4. Experience using financial and data-driven techniques to make decisions.
  5. Ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills, clearly and succinctly conveying information and ideas to individuals and groups.
  6. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, leader, self-starter.
  7. Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally, fluency in English.
  8. SM or APICS certification, Lean/Six Sigma experience, multilingual language skills, and knowledge of the Turbine & Turbomachinery industry are a plus.
