Forging Engineering Leader

Forge a path to excellence as our Forging Engineering Leader. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive innovation and efficiency in forging operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering function for forging operations, fostering collaboration and driving results-oriented initiatives.
  • Translate product drawings into forgeable designs, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Coordinate with the tooling department to oversee die and tooling design, streamlining processes and enhancing productivity.
  • Utilize simulation software (e.g., DEFORM, QForm) to validate and optimize forging processes, reducing cycle time and improving scrap reduction.
  • Support new product development from request for quote (RFQ) to production phase, delivering high-quality solutions.

Process Engineering & Optimization

  • Develop process flow charts, forging sequences, and layouts for new and existing parts, standardizing parameters and best practices.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer-specific requirements.

Documentation & Quality

  • Prepare and maintain process documents (SOPs, work instructions), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support PPAP/APQP documentation and customer approvals for new components, upholding quality standards.

Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Lead a team of design and process engineers, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors, suppliers, and OEMs, fostering collaborative partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Forging Technology (preferred).

Experience:

  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in forging engineering, preferably in automotive, aerospace, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
  • Hands-on experience in forging simulation, die design, and process optimization.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of forging processes (closed-die, open-die, upset forging, etc.).
  • Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation software (DEFORM, QForm, etc.).
  • Understanding of metallurgy, material flow, and heat treatment processes.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
