Job Title: Assistant General Manager

The role of the Assistant General Manager is to lead a large team in the Quality Control (QC) department, focusing on analytical method validation and testing.

  • They will be responsible for leading LC-MS, Nasal analytical, and FT-NIR analytical teams for regular testing and method validation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the QC-AMV team in regular testing and method validation activities with sound analytical knowledge and leadership qualities.
  • Provide backup support to the QC Head of Department (HOD) with daily updates, commercial output, monthly sample status, training, monthly review meetings, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Execute and approve different types of quality management systems (QMS), identify scientific root causes, implement effective corrective action and preventive action (CAPA), and maintain laboratory compliance.
  • Design and execute planning of analysis, data interpretation, and present findings to the HOD.
  • Be self-driven, make informed decisions, and be a good learner. Provide guidance to team members for improving work quality and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead all types of QC-AMV work in the absence of the QC-HOD and participate in departmental improvement programs to enhance output and quality.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams like QA, RA, R&D, and PMI to proceed with allocated tasks with ownership and accountability.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and emerging trends to remain competitive for LC-MS and FT-NIR techniques.
  • Maintain adherence to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems in the laboratory, and face FDA audits (US, MHRA, EU) individually.

Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree in Science or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy is preferred.
  • Strong analytical knowledge and expertise in modern analytical instruments, such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS, or NIR, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate insights.
  • Experience in QC, AMV, and AD departments is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset. Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Chromeleon 7.2 and Sciex software is an added advantage.
  • Good working experience in GMP and USFDA/EU audit-faced environments is required.
  • Ability to achieve deliverable tasks with minimal support for analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
