Job Title:

Network Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary

This role focuses on the management, optimization, and security of WAN/LAN network infrastructure.

  • The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring network resilience and business continuity by maintaining optimal network performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Performance and Security:
    1. Continuously monitor the WAN/LAN network for performance and security issues.
    2. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents and outages promptly.
  2. Identity and Access Management:
    1. Manage access to network and security devices while ensuring security controls are in place.
  3. Network Architecture and Security:
    1. Understand and adhere to industry standards for Data Centre Network Architectures.
    2. Ensure secured traffic flow within the network infrastructure.
  4. Wide Area Network Expertise:
    1. Proficiency in SDWAN, MPLS cloud, Internet Leased Lines (ILL), Point-to-Point (P2P), and Cloud direct connects, including knowledge of respective protocols.
  5. Network Security:
    1. Demonstrate expertise in network security and traffic analysis.
    2. Implement measures to protect network access, data, and network/security devices from external and internal threats.
  6. Device Installation and Administration:
    1. Install, integrate, administer, and troubleshoot network and security devices, including Cisco firewalls (FTD), routers, switches, and Load balancers.
  7. Customer Interaction:
    1. Engage with internal and external customers to understand their network requirements.
    2. Translate customer needs into network requirements and guide implementation with appropriate security controls.
  8. Incident Handling:
    1. Provide support for incident handling, including investigation and resolution.
  9. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
    1. Contribute to network disaster recovery planning and execution.
    2. Ensure business continuity by maintaining network resilience.
  10. Policy and Documentation:
    1. Develop, review, and update network policies, procedures, and documentation.
  11. Inventory and Patch Management:
    1. Manage network infrastructure inventory and implement patch management processes.
  12. Reporting and Compliance:
    1. Report findings from network assessments, audits, and security scans.
    2. Follow up on findings and ensure timely closure.
