JOB DESCRIPTION
- Monitor and handle all legal issues regarding claims matters.
- Handle all sorts of recovery actions such as outstanding freight, detention, and demurrage, abandoned and longstanding containers, more generally all costs and expenses incurred by the company and recoverable from third parties.
- Minimum graduate degree with a focus on law or related fields.
- At least 5+ years' experience in the shipping industry with expertise in cargo/marine claims.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical skills, good reporting skills, trouble shooting, and proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
- Gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced shipping environment.
- Develop expertise in cargo/marine claims management.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals to achieve business objectives.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) include monitoring and handling court cases, appeals, writ petitions, and actions initiated by authorities such as Customs, DRI, SIIB, CBEC, etc.
- Recommendations for improving claims handling processes and procedures are encouraged.
- Stay up-to-date with Indian case law and regulations impacting the scope of activity.
