Plumbing, HVAC, and Firefighting Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the design, coordination, and implementation of plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and firefighting systems for various projects.

  • This position requires expertise in system design, regulatory compliance, and effective project management to ensure safe and efficient installation and operation of building services.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting systems. This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Designing and developing plumbing system layouts, including pipe sizing and equipment selection.
  2. Conducting heat load calculations using tools like HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) to determine heating and cooling requirements for buildings.
  3. Designing HVAC systems including water-cooled and air-cooled chiller plants, Variable Refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, Direct Expansion (DX) systems, etc.
  4. Selecting equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, VRF systems, fan coil units, air handling units (AHUs), fans, and DX units based on project specifications.
  5. Calculating ventilation requirements, pressurization needs, smoke management systems, pump head calculations, external static pressure, and sizing ducts and pipes.
  6. Coordinating with other disciplines such as architecture, structural engineering, electrical engineering, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical expertise in system design, regulatory compliance, and project management.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools like Navisworks and BIM Collaboration (BIM 360).
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASHRAE, AHRI, CIBSE, HTM, ASPE, etc., in system design.
  • Familiarity with LEED and sustainable design principles.
  • Proven experience in system design, heat load calculations, equipment selection, and system optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Familiarity with fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and hydrants, according to national and international codes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 8-15 years of experience in Plumbing/HVAC & Firefighting.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
