Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transaction Monitoring Specialist to manage tools and mitigate financial crime risk.

This role is responsible for analysing data using statistical modelling, machine learning and data analysis techniques to identify and prevent financial crime.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transaction monitoring and financial crime threat mitigation tools and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage transaction monitoring tools to identify and prevent financial crime
  • Analyse data using statistical modelling, machine learning and data analysis techniques
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to mitigate financial crime risk
  • Work with cross-functional teams to prioritise product development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution
Required Skills and Qualifications

Postgraduate degree in Management, Statistics or Mathematics, or Engineering from a reputable institution is required.

15+ years of experience in transaction monitoring with 5+ years focused on financial crime threat mitigation tools and platforms is essential.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities are necessary.

Proficiency in agile methodologies, technical roadmaps and DevOps practices is required.

Certification from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists is preferred.

Technical Competencies

Data Science expertise is required.

Compliance Advisory, Risk Management and Surveillance (Specifically Monitoring) skills are necessary.

Statistical Modelling/Machine Learning/Data Analysis knowledge is essential.

Familiarity with databases such as Oracle and HaaS is required.

Strong coding skills in Python, R, SQL and familiarity with data engineering practices for model integration are necessary.
