About the Role:

Inspire Clean Energy is seeking an accomplished Deputy General Manager to lead and oversee operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for solar PV assets across multiple locations.

This role entails ensuring highest plant availability, maximizing generation, minimizing downtime, and driving operational excellence while managing teams and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory norms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations of all solar PV plants under O&M portfolio. Ensure achievement of generation targets and plant performance KPIs including PR (Performance Ratio), CUF (Capacity Utilization Factor), and grid compliance.
  • Team & Vendor Management: Lead and mentor site operations teams and regional engineers. Manage and coordinate with sub-contractors and vendors for smooth plant operations. Build and maintain a high-performance culture focused on safety and accountability.
  • Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor plant SCADA / remote monitoring systems to track generation & performance. Analyze plant performance data, identify losses, and implement corrective actions. Report on KPIs, downtime analysis, and improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and statutory compliances (CEA, DISCOM, SLDC, etc.). Drive plant audits, safety drills, and incident investigations.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for clients for operational issues, reporting, and periodic reviews. Support in resolving client escalations and ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and manage O&M budgets, optimize spares inventory, and ensure cost efficiency. Drive initiatives to reduce operating costs without compromising plant performance.
  • Digital Tools & Innovation: Champion use of digital tools and data-driven approaches for performance optimization. Identify and drive technology upgrades across sites.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in Solar PV operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role handling multi-location operations.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV technology, grid operations, SCADA, and monitoring platforms.
  • Proven experience in leading large technical teams and managing vendors.
  • Exposure to compliance norms, HSE practices, and regulatory frameworks in India.

This role has a clear progression to General Manager - Operations or similar senior leadership roles within Inspire Clean Energy based on performance and business growth.
