Contract Negotiation Role

We're looking for a skilled Contract Negotiator to join our legal team.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including NDAs, statements of work, master agreements, and data privacy agreements. They'll also maintain contracts to ensure accurate and compliant contract records and build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for order forms, professional service agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements according to internal guidelines.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Develop and effectively articulate creative solutions and draft appropriate alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team, as appropriate.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams to promote conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents (contracts, corporate records, non-disclosure agreements, data privacy agreements, etc.).
  • Partner with other internal teams to drive process and operational improvements and ensure extraordinary customer experience.

Qualifications

  • A university level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions with directly customers or vendors.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification required.
  • Familiarity with media organizations desirable.
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Experience managing complex issues, and applying legal, financial and business principles to contracting.
  • Adept in use of digital tools, document systems, and MS Office - particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.
  • Comfortable working as part of a cross functional team in a high-volume and fast paced environment.
  • Posses a 'can-do' attitude with no job too big or too small and willing to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Exemplify a strong attention to detail and possess superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
