Steel Melting Shop Operations Manager

This position is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of steel making and alloy steel plant production in terms of quality, volume, efficiency, productivity, cost, and people management. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient organizational and operating processes to meet delivery commitments aligned with market demand and forecasts.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commissioning steel melting shops, with a strong background in metallurgical quality assurance and quality control. Additionally, they should be well-versed in project management, including planning, monitoring, and controlling projects, as well as managing site and construction activities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee overall performance of steel making and alloy steel plant production
  • Ensure efficient organizational and operating processes
  • Coordinate with top management and other departments
  • Analyze, decide, and rectify process abnormalities
  • Lead Steel Melting Shop (SMS) team to improve steel quality
  • Reduce tap-to-tap time and significantly cut production costs
  • Manage site and construction activities, resource planning, materials management, and vendor development
