Job Title:

Director of Geological Operations

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive geological exploration plans, incorporating scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and technical vendor evaluation.
  • Oversee multiple project locations across diverse geological domains, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient operations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to established protocols for field and data management.
  • Conduct thorough deposit evaluations and resource modeling to optimize mineral reserves.
  • Perform detailed resource and reserve evaluations to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare high-quality geological reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
Strategic Planning:
  • Drive long-term growth by providing exceptional technical leadership and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement production planning strategies aligned with the business plan.
  • Plan and schedule mining operations to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Approval and Implementation:
  • Develop and submit comprehensive mining plans in accordance with industry guidelines.
  • Implement approved mining plans while maintaining quality standards and adhering to business requirements.
Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to QAQC protocols during exploration and production phases to achieve excellence.
  • Address customer quality concerns through targeted QC checks and blending strategies.
  • Review and adapt quality standards as needed to meet evolving business demands.
Database Management:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resources/reserve statements and mine development information.
  • Review and adjust database management strategies to accommodate changing business needs.
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
  • Secure necessary statutory clearances and permissions for mining operations.
  • Monitor execution of stipulations and ensure timely compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure compliant mine operations through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Business Development:
  • Analyze mineral provinces, evaluate acquisition opportunities, conduct due diligence on properties/auction blocks, and pursue business ventures.
  • Identify and manage external technical service providers and consultants for outsourced work and implementation.
