Job Title:

Fixed Assets Accounting Lead

Accounting for fixed assets requires an individual with advanced knowledge in financial management, leadership skills, and a proven track record in overseeing full lifecycle accounting processes.

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP policies and internal controls to guarantee accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead periodic reconciliations between the fixed asset subledger and general ledger to prevent discrepancies and ensure timely accounting entries.
  • Manage physical verification processes, tagging, and documentation of assets to maintain an accurate inventory and control expenses.
  • Prepare and review fixed asset schedules, roll-forwards, and supporting documentation for audits and internal reporting to demonstrate accountability and transparency.
  • Manage accounting for prepaid expenses, ensuring proper classification and timely amortization based on contract terms or policy guidelines to optimize cash flow and minimize losses.
  • Review monthly amortization entries and ensure appropriate cut-off and accrual practices are followed to prevent errors and misstatements.
  • Identify accounting anomalies through detailed financial analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported figures during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions and departments to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve accounting issues.
  2. Act as a key point of contact for external and internal auditors, support physical asset verification, audit requests, and reporting requirements to enhance corporate governance.
  3. Continuously assess risks and implement robust controls across fixed assets and prepaid areas to mitigate potential losses and ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • CA qualification with 9-12 years post-qualification experience in fixed assets accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with FA module in SAP and knowledge of Fixed Assets/Prepay US GAAP policies.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
