Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity

At Discoveries-Quintessential, we seek a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing geotechnical investigations, borehole data, and foundation recommendations to support structural and infrastructure projects.

• Draft Scope of Work: Prepare detailed documents outlining field/lab testing agencies' scope of work, including borehole number, depth, and test types as per codes.\
• Coordinate with Field Teams: Resolve technical queries and suggest changes during site execution to ensure seamless project delivery.\
• Review and Summarize Borehole Data: Assist structural design and foundation decisions by providing accurate and comprehensive summaries of borehole data.\
• Prepare Detailed Reports: Create in-depth Geotechnical Interpretation Reports, including safe bearing capacity, pile capacity, soil spring constants, liquefaction analysis, soil-structure interaction, and more.\
• Secure Approvals: Obtain approval of reports from authorities, proof checkers, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance.\
• Review Field Tests: Conduct thorough reviews of field tests like pile load tests and plate load tests to guarantee project quality.\
• Support Pre-Bid Engineering: Represent the firm in technical meetings and provide expert advice on pre-bid engineering requirements.\
• Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical guidance to junior engineers and assist in the development of geotechnical solutions.\
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.\
• Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Maintain knowledge of industry developments, best practices, and emerging trends in geotechnical engineering.\
• Participate in Quality Control Processes: Engage in quality control processes to ensure that deliverables meet the required standards.\
• Foster a Culture of Continuous Learning: Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.\
• Contribute to Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the team's overall capabilities.\
• Assist in Developing Project Proposals: Assist in developing project proposals, including estimating costs, defining project scope, and outlining timelines.\
• Perform Other Duties as Required: Perform other duties as required or assigned by management.\Requirements:\

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical investigation/reporting.\
• Strong civil engineering fundamentals and site coordination skills.\
• Proficiency in preparing design summaries and technical documentation.\
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.\
• Familiarity with geotechnical software, such as LPILE, WALLAP, or PLAXIS.\
• Exposure to ground anchoring techniques.\
• Prior experience with infrastructure or structural projects.\
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.\
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.\
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.\
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.\
