IT Governance Strategist Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned IT Governance Strategist to develop and implement governance frameworks, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency across IT functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 20000 standards, with experience in policy development, audit readiness, and governance program execution.

Responsibilities:
  1. Governance Frameworks: Develop and manage IT governance frameworks in alignment with COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 20000 standards.
  2. Policy Development: Create, implement, and monitor IT policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  3. Compliance and Risk Management: Oversee policy development, compliance tracking, and IT service management continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate IT risk assessments, audit readiness activities, and regulatory reporting.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, auditors, and regulators to ensure IT processes support organizational goals.
  5. Governance Calendar: Maintain and manage the IT governance calendar, including governance forums, meetings, and action tracking.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Governance, ITSM, Compliance, or Risk Management roles.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 20000 frameworks.
  • Proven track record of policy development, audit readiness, and governance program execution.
  • Excellent understanding of IT risk management, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as COBIT, ITIL Expert, ISO 20000, CISA, or CGEIT are highly desirable.
